Picture of Lakeshore Lodge Long-Term Care Home

Lakeshore Lodge is a long-term care home owned and operated by the City of Toronto. Since opening in 1990, Lakeshore Lodge has been committed to providing exemplary care and service for residents in an environment that supports the right to dignity, self-esteem and independence. Our multi-disciplinary team encourage and support residents to improve or maintain their capabilities so that they are able to function at optimal levels. We support the involvement of residents and their families in decision-making. We support ongoing community input into planning and provision of care and service through the Home Advisory Committee, Family Council and Residents' Council. We are accountable to the community for the provision of high-quality, safe care and service.

Lakeshore Lodge has a stunning view of Lake Ontario with open spaces, patios, benches and quiet places like the gazebo for strolling, sitting, wheeling and communing with nature. The home provides 24-hour care for 150 residents, including personal care, nursing care and programs to enhance quality of life.

There are three clean and spacious floors that house the resident home areas with only private and semi-private rooms (including two-piece bathrooms) offered. Baths and showers are supervised by staff in central shower rooms.

The second floor of the home is divided into two units, one of which is a secured unit caring for residents with special needs, including potential wanderers requiring a secure environment. The floor offers access to an outdoor patio where residents can do supervised or individual gardening.

A Nutrition Manager, in consultation with the care team, assures that nutritional needs and where possible, food preferences along with medical issues are understood and met. There are three main meals each day and snacks are throughout the day.

The home provides a caring and welcoming environment for all residents and their chosen representatives who are encouraged to actively participate in care and service planning.
