The City of Toronto's winter maintenance program keeps roads and sidewalks safe for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians.
During the winter season (November to April), Transportation Services staff patrol the expressways, arterial roads, and potential “trouble spots” like hills on collector or local roads, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Staff also monitors detailed weather forecasts supplied by various service providers. In this way, the appropriate response to any given condition can be activated in a timely manner.
Use the map below to help you find out when roads have been salted and plowed in the City of Toronto. The colour coded legend on the left side of the map provides a time range to indicate when a salter or plow was last on the street. The map also displays the real-time location of salters, plows and sidewalk plows.
