Toronto Children’s Services and our community partners are planning Ontario Early Years Child and Family Centres throughout the City.

Announcement regarding name and branding of Child & Family Centres

On October 24th, 2017, the Ministry of Education put out a news release announcing the new name and branding for the four programs being integrated as Child & Family Centres. These centres will now be called EarlyON Child and Family Centres.

Release of Initial Plan

On October 2nd, 2017, Toronto City Council adopted OEYCFCs in Toronto: Initial Plan, From Transfer to Transformation. This plan has been informed by the experiences and perspectives of service providers, program staff, and parents and caregivers documented in SN Management's Final Report, August 5, 2017, as well as reflected in separate summary reports for the French-language community and Indigenous community. The Initial Plan lays out the priorities for the City of Toronto's child and family program system for the years ahead.

Important dates for Service Providers

  • October 27, 2017 – Child and Family Program 2018 budget submission due
  • November 10, 2017 – Children's Services releases contracts and schedules for 2018 year
  • December 1, 2017 – Original, signed contracts returned to Children's Services
