Former City Councillor Betty DiseroBetty Disero resigned her seat on March 14, 2003.

Betty Disero's political career began in 1985 when she was elected Alderman for Ward 3 in the former City of Toronto, and following amalgamation was elected City Councillor from Ward 17 - Davenport, making her one of Toronto's longest serving elected officials.

Betty had been a member of countless committees, board and commissions throughout her 18 years of civil service. Prior to her departure, she was Chair of the Toronto Transit Commission, Co-Chair of the Mayor's Waste Diversion Task Force 2010 and an active member of the Planning and Transportation Committee.
