Exhibition Place – Canada’s Year-Round Convention and Tourism Destination

Exhibition Place is Canada’s largest entertainment venue, attracting over 5.3 million visitors a year. Social events, tradeshows, sporting events and conventions take place every week of the year at the award-winning Direct Energy Centre, Allstream Centre, BMO Field and other buildings on the 77-hectare site. With over 300 events every year, Exhibition Place is an integral component of Toronto and Ontario’s economy, particularly with respect to conventions, sport, festivals, recreation, culture and tourism.

Annual events such as the Toronto International Boat Show, National Home Show, Toronto Sportsmen’s Show, Honda Indy, Scotiabank Toronto Caribbean Carnival, and Canadian National Exhibition take place right here on the shores of Lake Ontario. These events, in addition to the hundreds of corporate meetings, conventions and live sporting events make Exhibition Place a significant economic engine for the City of Toronto and province.

The 2012 audit reported Exhibition Place with a profit in excess of $4.6 million. The economic impact Exhibition Place has is even more positive, contributing over $400 million to the city and province. This success is due to strategic planning and execution in soliciting new events, meetings, conventions and exhibitions, as well as a successful Canadian National Exhibition and responsible operating expense management.

Known as a world leader in environmental building and operational innovations, in 2015 Exhibition Place will welcome Hotel X – a new convention hotel property with 400 guestrooms and high-end amenities, including an expansive sports complex in a lakefront setting.
