Fun for the whole family at Cavalcade of Lights on November 30

On Saturday, November 30, Nathan Phillips Square will again host Toronto’s favourite, festive, free night out – Cavalcade of Lights, presented by Great Gulf.

The show kicks off with an all-star band led by musical director Wade O. Brown performing a variety of holiday favourites. Guest artists including Cold Specks and Tyler Shaw will later join the band.

Cold Specks’ debut album I Predict A Graceful Expulsion was shortlisted for the prestigious Polaris Music Prize and earned this Canadian artist a Juno Award nomination and worldwide critical acclaim. Her soulful voice, chain gang rhythms and sparse arrangements will have the audience transfixed. In 2012, B.C. native Tyler Shaw beat over 13,000 others to win the MuchMusic Covers competition. Since then, he has been building a passionate fan base that helped his debut track, “Kiss Goodnight,” become a Top 25 hit and earn him a gold single. His new single and video, “By My Side,” are currently climbing the charts.

Add to this the lively skating rink, the traditional countdown and magical lighting of the tree and square, all building up to a stunning fireworks display and you have an extraordinary night to remember!
