Modes of transportation

Union Station is Canada's busiest and most important multimodal passenger transportation hub. The station is connected to the following methods or modalities of travel:


The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) is the city's public transit service. Union Station is connected to Union Subway Station.

Commuter rail and bus

GO Transit, a division of Metrolinx, is the regional public transit service for the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area, with routes extending across the Greater Golden Horseshoe.

Passenger rail

VIA Rail operates the national passenger rail service on behalf of the Government of Canada, serving 450 communities across the country, from coast to coast and north to Hudson Bay.

Amtrak is a U.S. intercity passenger rail provider with connections to 46 states, the District of Columbia and three Canadian provinces.

Ontario Northland is an operational agency of the Province of Ontario, serving primarily northeastern Ontario.


The Toronto Union Station Bicycle Station consists of two secure bicycle parking rooms on the east side of York St. -- a newly built facility just south of Front Street, and a smaller room just north of 25 York St. (at Bremner Blvd.). 

Other ways to get around


Union Station is connected to Toronto's amazing PATH system.


There are usually several cabs available at the Bremner Blvd. loop near Longo's.

Rental car

There is a Hertz car rental counter at Union Station.

Shuttle bus

Porter Airlines offers a free shuttle service between downtown and Toronto City Airport, approximately every 15 minutes. The shuttle bus is located across Union Station, at the north-east corner of Front and York streets, and runs to and from the west entrance of the Fairmont Royal York Hotel.

Airport Express operates between major downtown hotels, including the Fairmont Royal York Hotel across Union Station, and Terminals 1, 2 and 3 at Pearson International Airport every 20 or 30 minutes.

What about parking?

While no public parking is available at Union Station, there are several public parking lots in the area.
