The Toronto Heritage Property Tax Rebate Program assists owners of eligible heritage properties with the cost of maintenance and conservation. The information presented below represents new policies and procedures adopted by Council on July 8, 2014, and included in a revised Toronto Heritage Property Tax Rebate Program by-law enacted by Toronto City Council.
Planning Studies & Initiatives
- Heritage Property Tax Rebates will be calculated according to the value of eligible maintenance and conservation work completed within a single taxation year
- Eligible properties must be classified commercial and industrial, where 50% of the current value assessment (CVA) is applied to the calculation of commercial or industrial taxes
- Eligible properties must be designated under the Ontario Heritage Act, and must be subject to either a Heritage Easement Agreement a Maintenance and Conservation Agreement
- Other criteria and restrictions apply
