Programs and Activities

Experience High Park in all seasons! Explore the park on foot, by bike or even on skis. Winter or summer, there is something for everyone. Learn more about the amenities High Park has to offer.

Programs and Activies: Children Walking on TrailsWalking Nature/Trails

Experience High Park on foot! The Spring Creek and West Ravine nature trails take you through the natural forest on clearly marked paths where you’ll see a variety of wildlife and native plants and trees. Walking tours are organized by the High Park Sunday Walking Tour committee.

Cross Country Skiing

During the winter months, cross-country skiing is permitted anywhere in the park, however no trail grooming is provided.


Cycling is permitted in High Park on paved roadways only.

Outdoor Artificial Ice Rink

The outdoor artificial ice rink is open during the winter months. It provides opportunity for pleasure skating, shinny hockey and permit groups.

Outdoor Swimming Pool

The outdoor swimming pool is open during summer months, mid-June to Labour Day.

Sport Fields and Permits

There are 3 baseball diamonds and 2 soccer fields located in High Park on the west-side of Colborne Lodge Drive. Learn more about booking sport fields.

Tennis Courts

There are 3 public courts located on the east-side of Colborne Lodge Drive and 3 public courts on the artificial ice rink surface opposite the outdoor swimming pool. The Howard Park Tennis Club on Parkside Drive offers private memberships and limited public hours. For more information please call 416-769-5600.

Dog Off-Leash Area

Select areas and trails within High Park are designated off-leash. Please be considerate and share these trails with hikers and runners.

Children's Gardening and Eco Programs

Children love to garden! Believe it or not, Toronto has a growing population of budding organic gardeners who are learning to plant, water, weed and harvest the fruits of their carefully cultivated vegetable plants.

Colborne Lodge

A wide variety of events, exhibits and programming for all ages is held year-round at Colborne Lodge.

High Park Nature Centre

Nestled in the park, in the former High Park Forest School, the High Park Nature Centre is a non-profit organization that offers programs for all ages. These include walks, workshops and camps.
