Former City Councillor Ila BossonsFormer City Councillor Ila Bossons.Ila Bossons had been a Metro councillor from 1989 to 1997 when she was elected to the new City council. Her strong interest in neighbourhoods and local issues was fostered during 23 years of living in the Annex and through her role as chair of the Annex Residents’ Association.

As a Metro councillor, she had been involved in many committees and agencies, including the Environment and Public Space Committee, the Planning and Transportation Committee, the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority, Tourism Toronto, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and the Catholic Children’s Aid Society.

Councillor Bossons was raised and educated in Switzerland and West Germany, immigrating to the United States in 1963 and Canada in 1966. She attended university in Spain, the U. S. and Canada. Her professional experience includes administration, editing, researching, writing and citizen activism.
