A New Relief Line in Toronto

The City of Toronto and the TTC are commencing planning for the "Relief Line", a future rapid transit line that would connect downtown Toronto to the Bloor-Danforth Subway east of the Don River. It will assist in relieving crowding on the Yonge Subway line and the Bloor-Yonge interchange station as well as provide riders with more travel options.

Strategic Actions for 2013 to 2018

In 2002, Toronto City Council approved its Strategic Plan. The strategic plan is Council's leadership document for the City of Toronto. It sets out Council's vision and mission for the City and specific goals that guide the planning activities within the organization. The City's Strategic Plan explains what we want to achieve for Toronto and how City government can contribute to this vision. Read more about Council's key achievements since 2002.

In 2012, the City Manager led the development of new Strategic Actions to replace the original 19 directions set in 2002 that have been completed. The 26 Strategic Actions for 2013 to 2018, affirmed by City Council at its meeting on October 8, 9, 10 and 11, 2013 reflect how the City will advance Council's vision, mission and goals for the next five years.

The renewal of the waterfront focuses on people, and the public is an integral and valued part of Waterfront Toronto’s planning and design process.
