Icons

City of Toronto icons are a clear and consistent visual way to help the public and staff easily recognize products or service provided by the City. This standardized set can be used for both print and online use.

Icon Principles

  • Must work in black and white
  • Must be scalable to all sizes (ex. small point on a map & large enough to be used on it’s own)
  • Item must be in a rounded corner box
  • Imagery must be in the most simplified form
  • Must be generic enough to be recognized by a large audience
  • Icon must match the look and feel of the overall icon set
  • Must use Universal established icons when possible

These files are free to use for personal or commercial use.

ESRI Style Files (ZIP)

This file contains four ESRI style files that can be used within the ArcGIS environment.

To use them in ArcGIS 9.3.1 they need to be placed in this folder C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Styles. When you open ArcGIS they will appear in the list of styles in the Style Manager which can be accessed under Tools.

For ArcGIS 10.0 they need to be placed in this folder C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Desktop10.0\Styles. When you open ArcGIS they will appear in the list of styles in the Style Manager which can be accessed under Customize.

For ArcGIS 10.1, the folder is C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Desktop10.1\Styles.

For users with 32bit workstations ArcGIS 10.3, the folder is C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Desktop10.3\Styles. For user with 64bit workstations ArcGIS 10.3, the folder is C:\Program Files(x86)\ArcGIS\Desktop10.3\Styles
