Message from the Medical Officer of Health

Toronto Public Health works every day to promote and protect the health and well-being of the 2.8 million people who call Toronto home.  We are committed to preventing disease, promoting healthy living and being a champion for policies that improve the quality of life for everyone in our city.

At Toronto Public Health, we strive to reduce health inequities and improve the health of the whole population. This commitment is reflected in everything we do and informs the basis for the decisions we make as individuals and as an organization.

At Toronto Public Health, we work in collaboration with community partners across the City. These partnerships are crucial to improving the lives of the city's most vulnerable, ensuring that children get the best start in life and that seniors are able to thrive and be engaged in the life of the community. Without these partnerships, we would not be able to build a Toronto that is as healthy as possible. These partnerships represent a vital aspect of our commitment to building a healthier Toronto.

I am eager, as Medical Officer of Health, to work with all Torontonians to continue to build a healthy City for all.
