The BIA Management Reporting Dashboards provide statistical information and key indicator variables for 81 of Toronto's 81 Business Improvement Areas (BIAs) at the time of this publication. These variables are the Retail Mix, Property Assessment, Operating Budget and Employment.
The Retail Mix graphs plot the number of businesses in each of the 20 categories provided in the 2012 North American Industry Classifications System (NAICS).
The employment chart displays the full-time and part-time employment for 2012 and 2014. The 2015 Employment survey is on-going so the graph will be updated when the data becomes available.
The Operating Budget chart shows the budget figures from 2011 to 2015. In few instances, data was missing for some particular years hence could not be displayed.
The information for this dashboard has been collected from multiple sources including the 2014-2015 City Council-approved budgets for the BIAs, Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) 2012 Commercial/Industrial Assessment and Toronto Employment Survey 2012.
Commercial/ Industrial Property Assessment Value
The Property Assessment chart depicts the value of properties in the BIA against the City's average. Given data is collected on a quadrennial basis, we used 2012 and 2015 as they are the most current information.
Commercial/Industrial Assessment and Toronto Employment Surveys of the City's Planning Division from 2012 to 2015.
The employment data has been categorized using the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Canada 2012 in order to provide the retail mix breakdown and employment figures that is consistent with the classification system used by the Economic Development and Culture Division and adheres to the Planning Division requirements.
