On the day registration opens, registering online is the fastest and easiest. Online Registration opens at 7 a.m. On registration opening days, the website is unavailable from midnight to 7 a.m. due to maintenance.
After registration opens, Online Registration is unavailable daily 4-7 a.m. due to maintenance. After the first class has started, online registration is unavailable.
First time registering for a recreation program?
You need to set up an account before you can sign up for recreation programs.
Once you have an account:
- Build your list of choices (see How to Choose Programs) with program titles and bar codes for registration day.
- Note the Current and Upcoming Registration Dates in your calendar.
- Have your family number and client number(s) ready.
- Have a payment method ready (if needed), a credit added to your account or approval for Welcome Policy.
You can also check for and attend Drop-In Programs that don’t require registration.
If you prefer to provide payment in-person or if you do not have access to a credit card, you can go to these civic centres or community centres to add a credit on your account. This payment can be made by cash, cheque (made out to "City of Toronto"), or major credit card (VISA, Mastercard or American Express).
Tips for Online Registration
Almost half of all program registrations are completed within the first ten minutes on the day registration opens. The system is busy. Please keep trying to reconnect by clicking [image] instead of hitting your browser's refresh button.
Once you have secured an "open session" to register online, you have five minutes of non-activity before being timed out. If your credit card information has been entered, it will be deleted for security reasons. Please "refresh" the system and log back in.
Using back and forward buttons on your web browser to navigate may leave the open session without activity (and end up timing you out). To avoid this, stay on the page and use the navigation buttons there to avoid being timed-out.
If you find that after being timed-out, you cannot register in your program because it indicates the spot has been reserved, please contact customer service at 416-338-4FUN (4386).
Remember to print/save the confirmation page before exiting the registration system; this is your receipt.
When you add a program to your cart, make sure you select the correct family member that you are registering.
Even if you are registering at a centre where programs are free, you still need to check out after you've added programs to your cart. Checking out is the action that registers your programs.
If you entered three (3) invalid family numbers, you may have been locked out of the system for security reasons.
Check to make sure you have both client numbers and a family number to log in; these account numbers are different.
