Pumpkin Parades

A Toronto tradition since the first Pumpkin Parade was organized in Sorauren Park in 2004, parades are now hosted in parks across the city from Terraview Park in Scarborough to Centennial Park in Etobicoke.


June is Recreation and Parks Month

Celebrate June as Recreation and Parks Month by swimming, biking, playing baseball, or dancing. Each year, Parks, Forestry and Recreation plans a wide range of events for the month including sports events, flea markets, festivals and community barbecues. Arts in the Parks

City parks will come alive this summer with arts and music! The City has partnered with Toronto Arts Council and Toronto Arts Foundation to animate parks with free arts and music events through the Arts in the Parks initiative found at As well, grassroots musicians and artists now have easy access to permits through the new free permit category, Arts and Music in Parks.


Don Valley Brick Works Park Events

The City of Toronto is happy to present a series of free tours at Don Valley Brick Works Park. These educational opportunities are open to the public and do not require registration. Please arrive on time, with sturdy shoes suitable for walking. Water and sunscreen are recommended!


Mel Lastman Square

Mel Lastman Square is a beautiful park featuring 20,000 square feet of open space, a garden court, an outdoor amphitheatre, fountains, and reflecting pool. Special events that showcase music, art, dancing, theatre, food, and sports are planned by our city’s various cultural groups for every season.

Natural Environment & Community Programs Events

Urban Forestry offers a range of volunteer opportunities in parks and ravines across the city. Tree planting, stewardship and trail building opportunities are available spring, summer and fall. These programs are a great way to get your hands dirty and contribute to the City's tree canopy goals.

15th Annual STOMP Urban Dance Competition/Showcase

On Sunday, June 5, 2016 more than 400 young performers took the stage at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts to compete in the 15th annual STOMP Urban Dance Competition and Showcase featuring a TV show theme. City representatives welcomed participants and kicked off the event, which drew an audience of about 2,000 people.

February is Black History Month

To celebrate Black History Month, Toronto's Parks, Forestry and Recreation Division holds events at local community recreation centres and parks.
