Appointment of Ward 44 Councillor

Toronto City Council will appoint a qualified elector at a special meeting of City Council on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 to fill the vacancy of:

  • Office of Councillor, Ward 44, Scarborough – East

The successful applicant will serve the remainder of the 2014 - 2018 term of office that ends on November 30, 2018.

The application process is now closed. Applications were accepted until June 19, 2017 at 4:30 pm.

Special meeting of City Council

City Council will hear from and ask questions of applicants, and vote to appoint persons to fill the vacancy at a special meeting on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 starting at 9:30 a.m. in the Council Chamber, City Hall,100 Queen Street West.

The City video records Council, committee and community council meetings. The special meeting will be video recorded and available to the public. Withdrawing an Application:

You can withdraw your application at any time up to the start of the meeting on June 28. You must do so in writing to the City Clerk, by email from the address you listed on the form, by fax at 416-392-2980, or in person at the Elections Office, Toronto City Hall, First Floor North or 3rd Floor, Scarborough Civic Centre.

Candidates can write to City Council with information about themselves.  Any information submitted, including a candidate’s personal information, becomes part of the public record.  A full set of communications will be available for public inspection at the meetings.

  • Communications received by 4:30 p.m. on June 19 will be published in the printed agenda for the June 28 meeting.
  • Communications received after 4:30 p.m. on June 19 will be distributed at the June 28 meeting to all Members of Council, relevant City officials and the media in accordance with usual protocol.
