Notice of Collection: The personal information collected in accordance with this form is collected under the authority of the City of Toronto Act, 2006, S.O. 2006, Chapter 11, Schedule A, s. 6, 7 and 8. The information is used for payment or reimbursement of fees for online ferry tickets or passes; aggregate statistical reporting, contacting clients regarding online ticketing changes and email notifications and receipt transactions. When you purchase online tickets, you have the option to print one combined ticket or individual tickets (i.e., one ticket for each individual). Once you have successfully completed the purchase, you will see the ticket(s) and receipt once payment is complete. You will also receive an Order Confirmation Email. Download your ticket(s) and receipt(s) by clicking the file link "Ticket.pdf" or "Receipt.pdf". Print your ticket(s) before arriving at the ferry docks.
When you arrive at the Ferry docks, have your ticket scanned at a booth before entry. Online tickets are only accepted for boarding after 7:45 am.
Combined Tickets are for families or groups who are all planning to arrive and enter the ferry terminal as a group. Combined Tickets can speed up your boarding process but your entire group must enter the ferry terminal together when the ticket is redeemed at the ticket booth.
If you are planning to distribute the tickets to individual members of your party or to use the tickets on different dates or times, you should select "Individual Tickets" during the order process.
Partially printed barcode tickets are only valid with a receipt of payment. You will need to print your receipt and present it at the Ferry Docks Traffic Office / Booth 1.
You can do the following checks:
- Check your printer to make sure it is working
- Check your computer to ensure that your "pop up" settings are not blocking you from seeing the ticket
If the problem is not printer or computer related, you can use your smart phone to show a copy of the ticket purchase confirmation email and your receipt at the ferry docks. If you are able to print your receipt, do so and present it at the ferry docks.
You can do the following checks:
- Check your junk mail folder in your email account
- Search your mailbox for “order confirmation”
If you do not receive the ticket order confirmation email, you may have made an error entering your email address or there may have been a problem with the email transmission. The ticket order confirmation email can be sent again and the email address corrected by Customer Service.
If your credit card was charged and, due to an online ticketing system error, you did not receive your ticket order confirmation email, a refund may be requested through Customer Service.
In either situation, please call Customer Service (416) 392-8188 (select option 4) during business hours Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 4 pm or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with the Subject line "Online Ferry Ticket Issue" indicating the date & time of purchase, the email account used for the purchase, and the last four digits of your credit card.
Yes. The online portal has the capability to handle bulk orders, however each ticket is printed on an individual sheet of paper. It is easier for users to manage large bulk orders of tickets by purchasing a roll of pre-paid tickets from the Ferry Docks Traffic Office / Booth 1. Pre-paid tickets are sold in groups of 10 and do not expire.
Tickets purchased online are valid until December 31 of the year purchased, with the exception of tickets purchased in December, which are valid for 30 days from date of purchase.
In accordance with City of Toronto by-laws, there is a "no refund" policy. Note: Online tickets are transferrable.
If you encounter an error related to the online ticketing system, an adjusting entry may be required to correct the system error. Please call Customer Service (416) 392-8188 (select option 4) during business hours Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 4 pm or send an email to email@example.com with the Subject line "Online Ferry Ticket Issue" indicating the date & time of purchase, the email account used for the purchase, and the last four digits of your credit card.
There is a 10% discount applied to the purchase of 10 or more tickets purchased from the online portal and at the ferry docks.
The online ticketing portal accepts Visa, Mastercard and American Express.
You should receive an email confirmation with your tickets when you place your order. You can check the status of your tickets by calling Customer Service (416) 392-8188 (select option 4). You will need the order number OR the purchase date, email used for purchase and the last four digits of the credit card.

Yes. Proof of age will be requested at the Ferry Docks for students, aged 15 to 19, and seniors, from 65 years and over, when the ticket is presented for scanning.
It is not advised for a smartphone/tablet to be used for admittance at the Ferry Docks as the ticket scanner may not be able to read the bar code. The City of Toronto is not responsible for any failure in ticket scanning on smartphones.
Buying a ticket does not guarantee priority boarding on any ferry. Boarding will occur on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Ferry tickets provide access to all ferries for all destinations (Centre Island, Hanlan's Point and Ward's Island) according to the schedule.
No, you can only purchase monthly passes at the Ferry Docks Traffic Office – Booth 1.
No. Only emergency and commercial service vehicles (e.g., utility, delivery, construction, etc.) that are properly identified are issued a vehicle permit ticket and allowed passage to the Toronto Islands. You can only purchase vehicle tickets at the Ferry Terminal - Traffic Office / Booth 1.
