Art Display by Azadeh Pirazimian

This collection of work portrays artist Azadeh Pirazimian's attempt to connect Toronto through nature. Six unique pieces will be on display and Azadeh will be on site to answer questions.

Citizenship Ceremony & Reception

2:00pm - 3:15pm | Nathan Phillips Square Stage

Join us and ICC as new Canadians take the Oath of Citizenship. This year the Community Citizenship Ceremony will take place outside on the Nathan Phillips Square stage. National Anthem to be performed by the Nai Syrian Children's Choir. Everyone is welcome to join the reception following the ceremony.

City Hall Tours

10:00am - 12:00pm | Nathan Phillips Square

We have reached our full capacity, registration is now closed. If your group is interested in learning more about City Hall please feel free to explore the self-guided tour handbook available in 5 languages. You may also want to consider participating in another activity, such as Passages Canada Story Archive, Speakers' Corner, Roaming Storytellers or Here's My Canada filming.

Drama Time for Children (age 0-5)

Availability remains for 10:30am (full) 11:15am (full) 12:00pm (full) | City Hall Library

Young People's Theatre and Toronto Public Library will engage infants, toddlers and their caregivers in reading, dramatization and song. Groups are limited to 20 participants per session. These sessions are now fully booked.

Here's My Canada

A multilingual, nation-wide contest inviting Canadians to express what Canada means to them in a 30-second video. This is a Historica Canada, Canada 150 Signature project.

Passages Canada Story Archive

Are you a newcomer to Canada? Share your immigration story with Passages Canada. They will be on site recording short audio interviews for their national story archive. To participate in this activity please register online.

Roaming Storytellers

Passages Canada volunteers will share their stories of migration with guests. Look for volunteers carrying signs that say "Ask me my story".

Mayor John Tory hosted the second annual Toronto Newcomer Day festivities at City Hall on May 24, 2016 to welcome newcomers to Toronto and to celebrate their contributions.

Integrating Cities Charter

The City of Toronto is the first municipality outside of Europe to sign the Integrating Cities Charter. The Charter is a formal commitment to provide equal opportunities for all residents, to integrate immigrants, and to embrace the diversity of all communities across the city.
