Balmy Beach Park and Trail Accessibility Improvements

Construction has begun on the Balmy Beach Park accessible path improvement project.

Important!  While we make improvements to the park, there may be some incovenience to users accessing the park and the boardwalk. Cyclists must dismount and walk bikes along the boardwalk around the construction area for the duration of the pathway improvement project.

See map below for details

Parks, Forestry and Recreation is happy to announce the creation of a new barrier-free accessible trail through Balmy Beach Park. The new trail will provide improved park access that will connect the parking lot at the east end of the park down to the boardwalk and beach area.

The new trail will be compliant with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) Design of Public Spaces Standard, while maintaining and increasing the tree canopy within Balmy Beach Park.
