City divisions

Accounting Services

Accounting Services prepares the annual financial statements of the City. Reporting responsibilities include yearly reports to the Province on the financial results of the City. The Accounting Services Division is responsible for the payment of all City liabilities through the accounts payable function. 

Accounting Services provides direct services to divisions through its Managers of Accounting Services positions. The primary role of these positions, and the individuals reporting to them, is to provide services to divisions in responding to reporting requirements and processing Accounts Payable for the departments.

The Division is also responsible for ensuring that City transactions are in compliance with Provincial and Federal legislation. Monthly reports and remittance for GST are the Division's responsibility as well as any annual tax returns which may be required.
