Tree Protection

Forested hillside overlooking marshy pond.

In order to improve and expand Toronto's urban forest, it is imperative that existing trees and resources and the opportunities for growing and expanding them in the future are protected.  Toronto has a variety of tree and natural feature protection by-laws. They include Street Tree, Private Tree, Ravine and Natural Feature Protection and the Parks By-laws. By-law enforcement provides opportunities for education and increasing awareness about the importance of trees and natural features.
