Financial Planning

The Financial Planning Division provides Council and management staff of divisions, agencies, boards and commissions with timely and objective advice and information, to ensure both the financial integrity of the Corporation, and the optimal balance between efficient and effective services levels, and levels of taxation and user fees. This mandate is delivered through:

  • timely and objective corporate financial advice including: strategies, reactive and proactive analysis, decision packages, processes for decision-making, and communications;
  • operating and capital budget support for staff of divisions, agencies, boards and commissions;
  • independent reviews of costs, benefits and services;
  • monitoring and reporting on spending, performance and compliance with corporate reporting requirements;
  • representation to other governments, agencies and funding partners
