Service Requests

Request a service or report a problem. After submitting a self-service request, you will receive a 311 reference number (or an explanation if no reference number is to be issued). Track the status of your service request from the 311 homepage, or call 311 anytime for additional information and assistance.

Household hazardous waste
Request pick-up of eligible corrosive, flammable, and poisonous household items from your residence by the City .

 

Bulky items - not picked up
Report that furniture, metal items/appliances, or other large items placed out next to your Garbage Bin were not picked up on your curbside collection day

 

Garbage - not picked up
Report that your garbage was placed out but not picked up on your curbside collection day. If your whole street was missed, please call 311.

 

Recycling - not picked up
Report that your recycling was placed out but not picked up on your curbside collection day. If your whole street was missed, please call 311.

 

Green Bin - not picked up
Report that your Green Bin was placed out but not picked up on your curbside collection day. If your whole street was missed, please call 311.

 

Yard waste - not picked up
Report that your yard waste was placed out but not picked up on your curbside collection day. If your whole street was missed, please call 311.

 

Overflowing litter bin
Report litter from an overflowing street bin to be picked up by the City.

New bins - resale home or new development
Order City-issued bins if you do not have any at your new residence. Your name must appear on the City utility bill.

 

Green Bin - new occupant
Order a City-issued Green Bin if your property currently has no Green Bin and receives collection services.

 

Garbage Bin - additional
Order an additional City-issued Garbage Bin. Your name must appear on the City utility bill.

 

Garbage bin - exchange size
Exchange your City-issued Garbage Bin for one of a different size. Your name must appear on the City utility bill.

 

Recycling Bin - additional
Order an additional City-issued Recycling Bin. Your name must appear on the City utility bill.

 

Recycling Bin - exchange size
Exchange your City-issued Recycling Bin for one of a different size. Your name must appear on the City utility bill.

 

Garbage/Recycling Bin - damaged
Report damage to your City-issued Garbage or Recycling Bin and have it repaired by the City.

 

Green Bin - damaged
Report damage to your City-issued Green Bin and have it replaced by the City.

 

Graffiti on private property
Report graffiti on private property for the City to investigate as part of bylaw enforcement.

 

Graffiti on a City road, sidewalk, or bridge
Report graffiti on a City road, sidewalk, or bridge.

 

Graffiti on a street litter bin maintained by the City
Report graffiti on a street litter bin maintained by the City. For litter bins maintained by Astral Media (i.e. bins with foot pedal) or any bin in a City park, please call 311.
 

Overflowing litter bin
Report litter from an overflowing street bin to be picked up by the City.

 

Loose litter
Report loose litter on a sidewalk or boulevard to be picked up by the City.

 

 

Pothole
Report minor pothole damage. If this represents a significant safety risk, please call 311.

 

Road damage
Report minor road damage. If this represents a significant safety risk, please call 311.

 

Sidewalk damage
Report minor sidewalk damage. If this represents a significant safety risk, please call 311.

 

Traffic or street name sign - missing or damaged
Report a missing or damaged City street sign. If this is about a 'Stop' sign or represents a significant safety risk, please call 311.

 

Pavement markings - missing or faded
Report missing or faded road markings such as lane lines, stop lines, and crosswalks. If this represents a significant safety risk, please call 311.

 

Pedestrian signal - timing issue
Report a pedestrian signal timing issue. If this is a another type of traffic signal issue or represents a significant safety risk, please call 311.

 

Road surface - cleaning
Request clean-up of spilled construction material, dirt, or mud on a City road (not litter). If this represents a significant safety risk, please call 311.

 

Catch basin - surface cleaning
Request clean-up of a catch basin (surface covered with leaves or other material) on a City road or boulevard. If this represents a significant safety risk, please call 311.

 

No water
Report no water service at your location.
 

Water service - turn off
Request for City staff to turn your water service off at the outdoor water service valve. A water service turn off is most commonly requested during home construction or renovation.
 

Water service - turn on
Request for City staff to turn your water service on at the outdoor water service valve. A water service turn on request is made only when a request for a water service turn off was made previously.
 

Water service valve - damaged
Report that the water service valve outside a property is damaged.

 

Fire hydrant - damaged
Report a damaged fire hydrant for repair by the City.

 

Fire hydrant - leaking
Report a leaking fire hydrant for repair by the City.

 

Discoloured tap water
Report dirty or rusty coloured water at your location.

 

Basement drain blocked or backed up
Report a basement drain that is blocked or backed up.

 

Leaking water line - on private property
Report a leaking water line on private property. To report a leaking water line on public property, please call 311.

 

Bus stop - slippery or needs snow plowing
Request snow ploughing or sanding/salting at a TTC bus/streetcar stop. Please wait until at least 72 hours after a snowfall/storm.

 

Walkway - slippery or needs snow plowing
Request snow ploughing or sanding/salting on a City walkway. Please wait until at least 72 hours after a snowfall/storm.

 

Bridge sidewalk - slippery
Request sanding/salting on the pedestrian portion of a City bridge. Please wait until at least 72 hours after a snowfall/storm.

 

Driveway - blocked by ploughed snow
Report a residential driveway outside of the City core that has been blocked by a ploughed snowbank ("windrow").

 

Snow piled too high
Request clearing of a snow pile that is blocking traffic flow/sightlines, on a boulevard, or in a school bus loading zone.

 

Snow plough damage
Report damage to a road, boulevard, or sidewalk that was caused by a City or City-contracted snow plough.

 

Sidewalk - slippery or needs snow plowing
Request snow ploughing or sanding/salting on a City sidewalk. Please wait until at least 72 hours after a snowfall/storm.

 

Property misuse - business operating from a residence
Report a business operating illegally from a residence for the City to investigate as part of bylaw enforcement.
