Heron Park Community Recreation Centre

Heron Park Community Recreation Centre offers free programs and activities for residents of all ages. The Facility has skating rinks, gymnasiums, enhanced Youth Lounge, community room for party rentals and a playschool room. We have programs for all ages including Seniors, Adult Fitness Programs, Youth Programs, Children's and pre-school programs including camps in the summer. The outdoor pool operates from June to August and provides much relief from those hot summer nights. Friendly staff are available at the front desk who can provide program registration and information about events in the facility, satellite locations and the community.

This location is a community centre where programs are free.

Cardio - AdultThese classes are suitable for all levels, focusing on providing a minimum of 20 minutes of cardiovascular exercises that use large muscle groups in a continuous and rhythmic manner. Most classes will also include a muscle conditioning component. Regular participation can help improve one's cardiovascular system (heart/lungs), flexibility, balance and co-ordination. Small equipment may be used.

Hockey Skills / Power Skate ChildHockey Skills and Power Skating are offered for beginner to advanced levels. Power Skating teaches speed, agility and coordination. Hockey Skills focuses on puck handling, skating and game strategies. CSA approved hockey helmets with full face masks, neck guards and gloves are required when on the ice. Course prerequisites are indicated.

For Caregiver and Tot programs, the caregiver accompanying the child on the ice must also wear a CSA approved hockey helmet.
